This is a minor remastered edition of my older dark ambient experiments under the moniker 'The Isolated City'.
The album was called North District as I created a fictional account of a person wandering a dark, almost lovecraftian desolate urban landscape, each track announced with a series of tweets giving a backstory to the character as they made their journey through the darkened streets of the Isolated City.
Originally released sometime in 2016.
From the North District I made my way down Ember Avenue. I had not seen anyone for days. I was hallucinating, convinced there was someone, or something following me. Best I leave here as quickly as possible, head towards the south. Maybe I'll find someone there.
I looked up. With no streetlights to obscure my vision of the sky any more, I could see the vast expanse of the cosmos. It made me feel utterly insignificant, like an ant meets a shoe.
These disused factories, rusting and dormant to the untrained eye - contained machine horrors I shudder to even think about.
They told me never to walk here at night - I wish I'd listened.
I headed down into the sewers, looking for the place I'd been told about - the Caverns. Supposedly full of people, refugees from the other District who had fled the fighting that had started there. No wonder it earned that nickname.
